Piccolo Restaurant
your comments review this restaurant
Piccolo is easily the worst of the cheap Italian restaurants in the lanes area of Brighton. The pizza I had was worse than the average frozen pizza, and the pasta looked bad too. The starters are laughably poor. Other restaurants offer far superior food for the same price.

Had a bargain lunch with my cousin at this restaurant today.2 courses for £6.95 as part of their Credit Crunch deal. The place was busy but the service was good : both friendly and efficient.
The minestrone soup was delicious as were the spagheti alle vongole and the lasagne. If you dont't want to go for the cheaper options there are plenty of other good dishes on the regular menu.Mains come out at £10-12 .And as it was a hot day it it was a cool and shady place to sit and watch the world pass through the Lanes.
I enjoyed my visit..I hope you do too.

Lived in Brighton for 15 years. Went to this place a couple of times - with parties for xmas etc (otherwise would not have gone back) - each time the food was very bad and the service very poor. Do not go there. It's only busy because it is in the centre of Brighton and tourists fill it - probably never to return.

First the good points..the restaurant was nice and informal and the food was very good and well priced. Now the bad..the sevice was atrocious I have never seen such chaos in a restaurant! Ok so it was a busy Saturday evening but not one of the service staff had any idea what was going on. The food would be brought out and left on the bar top where it would stay for at least 5 minutes; when a waiter/waitress did eventually notice that there was food waiting, there would be a frantic rummage through the pile of orders as they tried to work out what food was supposed to go to which table. My own order came out in two parts, my wifes food arrived and my order turned up 5 minutes later after they had found which table it had been taken to in error!

Well we came as a large group on a busy afternoon .we were up stairs.I must say It is a little run down and probably not used very often . well as a starter I had the dough balls with garlic butter, some of the dough balls were soggy and the garlic butter was spread across the dough balls instead of in a bowl.also there was hardly any garlic butter.
Moving on for main I had the milano pizza.very nice but took quite a long time to arrive but over all quite nice
by the way I'm 11.

Went here on a quiet Monday night after the cinema- was quite late and the restaurant only had a few tables of people left but the staff were pretty inattentive- no hello or any curtesies. The food was cheap- but the quality of my calzone pizza was pretty poor, and my husband's pizza wasn't much better. The crust of my pizza was soggy and the filling was too heavy on the tinned tomatoes and not enough of anything else!
Considering how cheap it was, it wasn't bad- but what they're serving up lacks care and attention.

Been going to this restaurant for years when we come to Brighton, however, on our last visit i noticed how the service had gone down hill. The owner of this restaurant was very rude. 'They made a hash of our bill: we opted for the set menu, I agree with other reviews the garlic dough balls were very disappointing, they used to be filled with garlic butter, but now there is a blop of buter just put on the top and you are left with a dry dough ball whilst trying to spread the hard butter on them!
We ordered the set lunch menu and got charged more!
I must say that its not all positive, whilst the food is pretty good value for money,it now appears that the owner is just trying to get as many customers ina nd out as poss, yes it is a busy place its in the centre of the lanes, but eventually he will put customers off.
