I'm in the restaurant as I write this. The service could not be better. The waitress is on her first day and is very very helpful and friendly. I'm starting with garlic bread ehich took just over 5 minutes to arrive. Its fresh and tasty and far too much for one. Yes I'm eating alone.

I've ordered a Quatro Stagioni Pizza which I'm waiting for now but I have only been in the place for less than 15 minutes !

the atmosphere is calm and pleasing with some quiet music in the background. I've chosen a table at the very back of the restaurant so I can fwiw what's going on.

Two guys that came in well after me have just been served with pizza and pasta which surprises and annoys me a little as I've asked for my pizza to be served asap as I'm on a timescale for the cinema.

Hmm, is this going down hill fast or will they redeem themselves with fantastic food? YES! The food is great

This was probably the best service I have had in Brighton - I don't know if it was because it was quiet, but it was a pleasent change not having to contort myself in to a number of different positions to try and catch a waiters eye. Our waiter was extremely friendly and accomodating. The food was simple italian fare, done well. Not earth shatterlingy amazing but good honest italian food, the tiramisu was so big that 2 of us couldn't finish it and the special offer bottle of red wine fantastic. We stayed a lot longer and spent more than we meant to, but still it was a reasonable price for a 3 course meal. I would recommend it for an relaxing dining expereince.

This has to be the worst restaurant I have visited in a very long time. The evening started promising for our party of 6 when we entered, and they manouvered furniture so we could all sit together, but after our menu's were delivered we seemed to get forgotten! After we finally ordered our drinks, a further 15 minutes lapsed before a waitress took our food order. We waited about 45 minutes before our starter arrived (mushrooms in garlic sauce). We were seated in the window which was open all evening and after 9pm, it started to get chilly and our party were complaining, but without manouvering our whole party, table and chairs it could not be closed.

When our main arrived, 2 of our party didn't get what they ordered, 1 never recieved a meal full stop! This is appalling and embarressing for me who suggested Picasso's. After our desserts arrived they were prompt to give us the bill of over £100, inclusive of service charge!

Overall the atmosphere in the restaurant was sour, as other people were recieving wrong orders, awaiting about 30mins + for food and generally poor service from all the staff. At the end of the evening, I made a complaint to the man in charge (Doubtful he was the manager) and all he could do was offer us a free shot of cheap and nasty lemon liquer. Eventually I had the service charge of £10 knocked of the bill but no more room for negotiation!

I seriously beg you not to try this restaurant, as I have eaten in nearly all Italians in Brighton & Hove and rate this as my worst.

I have lived in Brighton for over 7 years and this is my favorite restaurant in the entire city. Always great food and the service is always friendly. When you want a great Italian "home cooked" meal, go to 44 Southwest. Always great to take friends and family.

Picasso's has gone a little more upmarket these days. The prices have risen, but so has the quality of the food. Good atmosphere, friendly staff and children welcomed. Probably not the place if you want space or quiet conversation.

Horrible. Pizzas were like what you would get frozen from tesco - not cooked in a stone oven. Table so close together you might as well join in your neighbour's conversation! I guess what do you expect for £3! Good if you are on a budget and want to eat out but I think I'd rather buy a frozen pizza from tesco and eat it in my own living room. At least then you wouldn't have strangers munching their food 10 cms from you!
