Don't eat here! Food and service awful.
My partner & friend didn't even eat their meal, I had a pizza that was ultra thin & lacked any topping NOT GOOD Waiter apologetic & did not charge for drinks & unedible meals.

I don't believe this is authentic italian cooking at all unless that is pre-packaged food from a cheap supermarket prepared in a microwave!
Pizza base was like cardboard. Garlic bread saturated fat. They add a service charge to the bill which apparently doesn't go to the waiting staff at all. What a trerrible place.
Visit on Saturday 27 March 2011 - hardly any customers and now I know why!

Great little place to pop in for lunch, I always get served and have a nice relaxing meal within an hour, have been for dinner too and found the full menu to be varied and great value, though its the cheap set menu that makes this place buzzing during the day - good food and great price!

ive eaten at Pablo's over 10 times now, and everytime ive been satisfied. The foods not amazing but for the price its lovely, and the portion sizes you get are brilliant. The service is generally good but the waitresses can be abit slow at times and dont have the best customer service skills and the tables can be a bit cramped, try and sit upstairs if you can - its so much lighter and more room up there but overall i like it here and will continue to go back (:

Have been to Pablos a few times as its always good value for money. I have always found the staff to be pleasent and friendly and the atmosphere relaxed. The food is always of good quality and, for the price very large portions. Whether I've been with friends or stopped in with my 9 year old son the results have always been the same - happy diners, and a very reasonble bill! Will continue to eat there and would happily recommend to others.

I took my friend to Pablo's for lunch on the recommendation of another friend and was really pleased overall. The menu is huge and very reasonably priced. We opted not to go for the £5.99 set menu, as the mussels and whitebait starters which had caught our eye were not included. The service was quick, but we were given enough time to browse the menu properly. The waitress was friendly and our bottle of Pinot Grigiot (very good for £13.99) arrived quickly.
The mussels and whitebait starters were a good idea - generous and very fresh tasting, and we found it hard to finish our delicious pasta mains as the portions were so big. No room for dessert, so we finished with a couple of double espressos.
The food overall isn't fancy, but it is fresh and tasty and the portions are generous: the service is friendly and efficient, but not rushed. We couldn't complain when our total bill including service came to less than £45. I will definitely go back!

How I agree with Holly's review. Service was slow or non existant. The Spaghetti Carbonara consisted of a mound of tagliatelli with some cubes of boiled bacon thrown in. No cream or moisture of any kind.
When we asked the waiter if the service charge went to him he reluctantly stated 'no' so we removed it from the bill.
Go here if you are desperate for food and can't wlak another 20 metres.

Me and my boyfriend went here at the weekend for the lunch special. I have been here twice before and it has been nice however this time was the worst food I have ever had in any restaurant ever.
I had soup for starter which I'm pretty sure was out of a can, my boyfriend had burnt bruschetta. For main my boyfriend had sausage and mash which was cold and I had Carbonara. The carbonara was pasta in a bowl of milk with about 7 bacon pieces on top. It was so bad I asked for the bolognese instead, this came and it was mushy pasta in tomato flavoured water with about a spoonful of meat. We decided it was so horrible that we weren't going to eat it or pay for it.
We told the waitress that we weren't happy with the food (very politely). We said we were prepared to pay for our drinks and 1 starter (as my boyfriend had eaten his burnt bruschetta) but not the rest as it really wasn't edible.
The waitress spoke to the manager OVER THE PHONE and after one offer of taking £2.50 off the bill and another of taking the tip off (optional anyway) we still said we weren't prepared to pay for something that bad that we hadn't even eaten.
The waitress came back and said the manager had told her that if we weren't prepared to pay for the meal then we would be BANNED from the restaurant. So after being told this we decided we would actually be more than happy to never come here again so we left.
The food was so bad it was almost as if it was some sort of joke and when we complained they weren't even prepared to consider that there might be something wrong with it - instead banning us forever (even though the manager that banned us wasn't even there to see us or the food). Considering we hadn't actually eaten anything that we were refusing to pay for there was nothing for us to gain by doing this. I have also never refused to pay for anything in a restaurant before and only sent my food back once before so I'm generally not that fussy.
I would strongly recommend to steer clear of this place, unbelievably bad food and a manager with a very rude/strange attitude.

I used to take my girlfriend here for dinners out all the time, but I wouldnt recommend it anymore. We waited 15mins to order drinks, which included a house red and water. The wine came in 5 mins, but we had to ask for the water again, and again, and again. eventually they brought it, but slammed it on the table as if asking for tap water was incosiderate. The starters was average but again the waitress was rude and obviously having a bad night, slamming the food down and walking away. After starters we waited, and waited for our our mains (45mins) eventually the waitress came and asked us for dessert. We politely pointed out hat we were still waiting for the mains. She strolled away and came back with our meals 10mins later. without a sorry. We had the Aubergine bake and Crumbed turkey, both of which tasted like watered down cardboard. Before we had finished our meal they turned off the music and turned on the lights. (it was 9:45pm) considering we arrived at 8 and waited so long I think this is a bit pushy (especially after waiting for so long for our meals). We decided leaving a tip was a bad idea however when the bill arrived we noticed it was already included as a service charge. When we left there was not a thank you, or goodby to be heard. WE DIDNT EVEN COMPLAIN. So unless you like feeling intimidated dont go there! Brighton has plenty of decent Italian restaurants for similar value, I would rather eat at a fast food chain and that says alot!
