With so many bad Indian restaurants in Brighton this is a prime example of how it should be done. We've visited in January and March and have had excellent meals both times. A warm welcome, friendly informed service in pleasant surroundings plus really good food at reasonable prices. What more could you ask for? One criteria we use is the quality of the lamb in a curry. We had a lamb madras last night which was melt in the mouth, no lumps of fat or gristle (hugely important and usually where most fail), the curry itself was hot without scorching and very, very tasty. Have to say it was the best flavour mushroom rice as well. Highly recommended!

This is the best curry house in Brighton. We have been going here since it opened 9 years ago and the take aways are just as nice as eating in. Lovely staff too. Must go if you love curry!

Great food in the restaurant and just as good takeaway. Lovely complimentary brandy at the end and hot towels. Definitely recommended!

Last night I had the most delicious fish curry I have ever tasted at this excellent slightly out of town restaurant.
All of the courses were really inventive, tasty and well spiced. The service was really good and the waiter's recommendations for my wife's meal were fantastic. The complimentary brandies and irish creams were an additional treat.
It was no surprise that the place was busy and I would unreservedly recommend it

I have not seen this kind of restaurant ever before. I am really surprised to see the kitchen. In a word this is awesome. I would like to give special thanks the manager and chef.

I had a very disappointing experience with this takeaway. Our order was delivered with one main meal missing. When we complained The Raj Pavilion refused to acknowledge they had got the order wrong and told us we had been charged only for what was delivered. On calculating the bill we discovered we had been overcharged for two of the dishes. We phoned back and were told we had been charged extra because fish was substituted for meat in one meal (we were not advised of this when placing the order). The way our complaint was dealt with was appalling - they clearly didn't care at all. The food we did have delivered was nice but not great, but the service and rudeness of the staff when there was a problem mean we won't be using their service again.

The Raj Pavilion in Preston Circus is easily the best Indian Restaurant in Brighton & Hove in my humble opinion and I have eaten at many of them.
I strongly recommend the king prawn jalfrezi if you like your curry with a kick and their starters are of a very high quality too.
The food is always fresh tasting and the takeaways are just as good as eating there.

The food at Raj Pavilion is delicious, non-oily and beautifully spiced. The staff give lovely service and are always welcoming. My husband is from Mauritius so certainly knows his spicy food. We all love going there as a family. The tandoori mixed grill is amazing. The bad review must be from a rival establishment as everyone I know raves about Raj Pavilion.
