My second visit to Raj Pavilion. A family party of six went on a busy Saturday evening. The restaurant phoned me at home at 5.30 to confirm the booking, which was a nice touch and we we were just seated for 1-2 minutes on arrival for table to be prepared.Excellent food, the menu is varied and isn't the bog standard Indian staples and drinks were fine. (We stuck mainly to Indian beer and water!)

As mentioned in many of these comments the staff are efficient and helpful.

Extremely good value too, a pleasant experience.

Excellent food, and they even catered for the vegans among us by adapting some items on the menu. Nice and spicy without being overpowering. Good decor and atmosphere.

However.... our food took an hour and a half to arrive, though to be fair there were 12 of us, although it was a quiet Tuesday night in February, so they weren't exactly rushed.

The service was over-attentive to the point of being intrusive, and avoid the house wine like the plague unless you're accustomed to buying your wine from Lidl's budget range.

Though it looks a bit ordinary from the outside, and is a bit away from the city centre - this is actually one of the finest curry houses in Brighton, to my opinion. The food is absolutely delicious - and actually cheaper than in some less-nice places.

The guys working there are really nice, and do their best to make you enjoy your evening out. The interior has recently been redecorated and looks more classy now than it did before. The background music is generally pleasant, indian-inspired.

It's suited for romantic nights out, dinner with friends (we've been there in large group before) and I've frequently seen parents with kids there too. It's just an overall friendly athomspere.

But their main selling point is definately the food - yum!

The food here is good, and the service is normally OK-ish, but I recommend NOT going during busy times, like a Friday evening. I went last night with some friends and the staff were too busy dealing with take-away orders to actually be bothered to serve the restaurant customers - it took half an hour to place our order and then a further HOUR to actually get our food, by which time some of it had evidently been standing in the kitchen for quite some time. My advice - go on a quiet weekday evening or maybe a Sunday.

We went here for the first time in about 5 years. The place has been revamped, new management and new cooks. The food was amongst the best I've had in Brighton and definitely the best given the price. Some more unusal dished as well. Service and atmosphere were both good too.

I find it hard to believe that there is a comment about the food being bland. I am astonished as I have eaten here many times had countless deliveries too. I have introduced many friends who all now eat here regularly. RP has a great varied menu of wonderfully cooked, tasty food and the service is great. I have ordered over the phone in the past and have been talked through the entire menu with desccriptions and recommendations! These guys are great and the food is simply delicious!
