Beautiful food, lovely atmosphere and great staff.

The food was tremendously presented, with excellent flavours and ingredients and delicately infused to produce wonderful dishes. The atmosphere is lovely, as is the decor.

The staff were more than happy to assist you with all of your needs, and were extremely knowledgeable about the food and it's ingredients.

Fantastic for those who are on a wheat/gluten free diet, but sumptuous enough for those who are not.

Quite pricey, but you pay for what you get here, and in no way is it over-priced.

I can only agree with an earlier review.

The restaurant has a great feel to it, the staff and service are great, but the food was VERY DISAPPOINTING!

My starter of Lamb Shashlik was quite bland, and was not the flavour induced meat I was expecting.

The King prawn main course had an overpowering taste of cloves which killed everything else. I can honestly say I have had better out of a jar in my local supermarket, and the portion was mean to say the least.

Coming in at over £50 for 2 courses and drinks, this wasn't value for money for two people!

Do yourself a favour and spend your hard earned cash elsewhere unless your only reason to come here is to be seen somewhere a bit trendy !!!

I attended a party at this venue in April 2006 (i was working it, not a guest) and i was so busy i didn't even try the food, but did enjoy the venue and like the staff. So at Christmas 2007, when we attended a concert in Brighton with the in-laws, we were looking for somewhere to eat and I remembered i'd loved the place before. Knowing my in-laws are big curry fans, I knew i was taking a risk and if it was a disaster i'd ruin the whole evening!

I'm pleased to say they thought Indian Summer was a brilliant restaurant, with great staff who were very helpful - ask them something about a dish and they'll tell you not only what you need to know, but why it's like that and the difference between that and a similar dish you've probably heard of! Very knowledgeable people, and obviously very passionate about food; the food they serve in particular.

We've been again a couple of times since and the in-laws are more and more impressed every time, which certainly keeps me in their good books!

Definitely recommended, great for a group of friends or for an intimate first date. Food is virtually Condon Bleu (if you're expecting lots of sauces and flavours you've had a hundred times before on various drunken nights out, think again!), and the individual flavours really complement each other and are quite distinctive. None of your "usual curry" about it! Bit pricier than usual, but so, so worth it!!!

Hey Indian Summer Team- Keep up the great work .

You are the best Indian in town . Dont worry about the peeping toms (the review on february 26th).

What do these people expect a restaurant to do to prove that their food is freshly prepapred-slaughter the chicken in front of them???

I will be back and will be bringing lots of friends.

Been twice now and the food is consistently good, never overpowering, well balanced and well presented. The staff are really friendly & knowledgeable about the food and can answer your questions. They have added "cleansing" courses of sorbets which I don't know if they are really needed, but just shows you the attention to detail. Delicious.

nice venue with clever decorative touches and charming staff... BUT the food was a massive disapointment - fussy, confused and pretentious. the lukewarm sauces and rows of large white catering tubs on the kitchen counters (visible through the kitchen window) suggest food may not be cooked to order but prepared in advance and reheated -? will not be returning and cannot recommend.

Indian summer is by far the best restaurant I have eaten in this Summer.

Those expecting a big plate of sloppy greasy curry need stay away.

The food is expertly put together! very sublte yet distictive flavours make your palate crave for more. Its just not the obvious sugar filled hot tasten that us brits have become to think of as 'indian' food.

The atmosphere was warm and intimate. The staff were so friendly and welcoming and even though it was really busy on a friday night didnt attempt to shove us in a corner. And instintively knew when to come and take orders/remove plates.

They understood the food when asked and could advice us on what complimented waht dish.

The menu changes occasionally but unlike another reviewer who obviously was just very unlucky the chicken we had melted like butter in our mouths.

And the lamb of the main course was cooked to perfection

And what can I say about the Mango Brulee..never been a brulee fan but I am converted.

Their previous operation across the road was too cramped and this is a much more comfortable place with a nice atmosphere and clever, if a little too dim, lighting. Starters were fine but the whole evening was ruined when one of our party of four was served partially raw chicken in her main course. In the semi-darkness it was lucky that one of us spotted the pink uncooked middle of the breast on her plate. To be fair, the waiter was very apologetic and the bill was reduced by the cost of one person's food but such an amateur and dangerous mistake should not happen in a professional kitchen. Shame, because we really wanted to like it and the rest of the food was OK, if unspectacular.

Yummy scrummy!!

My partner and I fell upon Indian Summer one evening last month - it was approaching 10pm and we were so starving, we would have eaten the pebbles on Brighton beach if we hadn't found somewhere that would take us!

Tentatively we opened the door (thinking we might get nasty looks for daring to eat at that hour) only to be greeted by a lovely bubbly waitress who seemed only too happy to accommodate us. On informing her that it was our first visit, she proceeded to detail their best dishes and recommend her favourites.

I was very grateful for the 'limited' menu - each dish sounded so delicious, I really couldn't decided between them. I opted for a starter of Kand ki chaat and a main of Malai chhingri. My gosh, it was all delicious. The starter was very light and refreshing - just how a starter should be and the flavours in my main dish were very delicate.

I was VERY pleasantly surprised by Indian Summer and am excited about my second visit for Valentines day.

In a word: BLAND.

If you would like another word: OVERPRICED.

Seems as if all the thinking has gone into the decor - touches like the 'funky' menu (leather purse style), etc...

The will seems there, with a couple of amuse-bouches thrown in (although insipid tomato soup with a hint of curry powder is no laughing matter), but I'm afraid this restaurant doesn't know the way.

Service brisk, but machine-like.
