What a lovely venue to have a glass of wine sat by the open fire, watching the sunset. Dont let me forget those crispy squid and prawns that I had for a light snack. Wonderful!

I was part of a group of 8 friends who met there today for lunch. Service was friendly and prompt. The food was truly scrumptious, and several of us were seriously in love with the fish and chips. Such a light batter, almost worthy of Japanese tempura. Personally I didn't have room for a dessert afterwards, and I stared in awe at those served to my friends. They were huge, seriously challenging, beautifully presented and (apparently) very tasty.

We went to this "restaurant" last night. i would advise anybody thinking of going there to think again.

The service was apalling, the food was inedible (really awful), and the prices are just arrogant!

Go to the local chippy, at least then you know what you're getting!

i am a resident of brighton and my friend suggested that i take my parents (who were down to visit me) to the terraces. on arrival i was greeted by one of the staff members and seated at a table with a gorgeous view of brighton pier. from the moment we were seated we were looked after by a friendly waitress going by the name of julianna. we ordered the seafood pasta, goats cheese tagine and the mussels. the food was well presented,the mussels especially, coming in a crock pot with crusty french bread on the side. i could have eaten two of them they were that delicious! i would recommend this place for the view and the food especially.the staff were very approachable and friendly and looked after us all night. will definately be back again on the next sunny day in brighton!

I have visited terraces on many occasions and I have always had an enjoyable meal and I think the prices reasonably reflect the quality of the locally sourced seasonal food.

Although smart, it is still laid back and not in the slightest bit stuffy, the waiting staff have always been helpful and accommodating. The Chef is happy to tweak a recipe to your preference - a sure sign that all of the food is freshly cooked and not prepared days before.

if you want a relaxed, long, enjoyable meal made with great ingredients then I would strongly recommend Sevendials
