Good Friends

This is without doubt the best Chinese restaurant outside London. The menu is great, food is superbly cooked, and the ingredient is fresh and of excellent quality and the service is fantastic. I take my family their at least once per month.

Fantastic and Authentic Food. I'm a oriental myself and I can honestly say the dishes they do in Good Friends were top quality authentic delicious food.
I am not sure if Western people could get used to some traditional heavy tasted dish (for example, chilli-boiled beef) but for anyone who's really after a authentic Chinese food. Good Friend is the place to go to.

The food here is great. I'm Chinese and I eat here all the time, even my relatives from Hong kong think this place is good.
The only thing to add is that I order from the Chinese menu which has foods that are not on the English menu. But my favourite is the aubergine bowl, the Pepa Tofu and the black pepper oysters on a sizzling plate...to name a few.
The service can feel a little quick, but always friendly. There really is no need for you to rush in this restaurant as they have an upstairs when it is full. The decor is adequete. The prices are good value and the express menu is excellent.
Also it is customary for the waiters to fill up your cup frequently.

I stumbled into this restaurant with my boyfriend and a friend after a night of drinking across the road.
The food was really good, fresh and tasty. I had the two-person starter which included spare ribs, crispy seaweed and sesame prawns toast - typical Chinese restaurant style food that you can get anywhere - but at this restaurant it was done really well. I had crispy seafood noodles, again it was done really well, the noodles were crispy, not soggy as they usually are, the food was brought out promptly.
The only downside to this place is really the atmosphere. Everything seems rushed, and it felt like they wanted you in and out within a certain time period. It is a very busy restaurant in general but don't come here if you're likely to get panic attacks walking through crowds. Instead, just enjoy the busy atmosphere or switch off and ignore it whilst you're tucking into your noodles.
