Having booked a table a couple of weeks in advance I took my parents to this restaurant as I'd been here a couple of years ago and was impressed by the good food, friendly service and Brighton vibe. This time, however, at 8pm there were only four dishes left on the entire menu to choose from (all others had 'sold out'). The lack of food available meant that we had to find another restaurant that knew how to stock it's kitchen. A big let down - not even a genuine apology from the restaurant.

We had dined @ the Fringe before for a friends birthday and the meal and atmosphere had been electric, so this occasion for a birthday, much anticipation was high on the agenda. We arrived to find only 4 other people dining and for a Friday night we thought maybe the establishment had dropped it standards, we were wrong, even though the world could have been crashing around us. The chickpea fritters were divine and the
sea bass was just to die for.The staff were courteous, enough time to chat between courses and the food, well it speaks for itself. Go on try it, it's not like marmite, you won't hate it, you'll love it!

And we did go again, and the food was just as superb this time! Small menu, and all perfectly formed - we each chose a different dish and every one was truly delicious. The wine was a perfect complement and could not be faulted in any way. Definitely our favourite restaurant in Brighton, and well worth a visit to Kensington Gardens.

Wow - what a wonderful surprise! Dined at Fringe on Thursday evening, and whilst it was very quiet, and the menu seemed a little limited (only 2 desserts!), the food was absolutely delicious! Lamb, swordfish, chicken and meat burgers (the 'burgers' were sophisticated and very tasty) - all dishes were cooked to perfection - wonderful flavours, just really, really great! Will go back again!

I visited this little gem by accident while my girlfriend dragged me down the old lanes in Brighton on a weekend away.
I needed a break from shoe shopping and persuaded my beloved we should stop for a bite to eat.
The Fringe was the next place we saw so we dived in and had light lunch that was as good as meals I have paid twice the amount for in London. We ended up sitting upstairs on the balcony of the much more relaxed and informal Fringe cafe upstairs and watched the locals and tourists parade through the lanes while indulging in a bottle of wine. All in all a very relaxing Saturday.
