I completely disagree with Lipgloss. I used to eat there on a weekly basis with my son and meet up with all my friends and their children. The atmosphere was warm, £10 lunch menu exceptional value and the kids could play in safety without us feeling unwelcome. I think Pintxo People has left a huge gap in the child friendly market, the food was unique, cocktails amazing and sadly if it were not for parochial Brighton locals assuming it was too expensive it may still be open!

Glad to hear this place has closed so it won't take anyone else's money. Not surprised they're gone considering average, overpriced food, long wait times and bad service. Only good thing was the room and the vibe. Is there any good tapas in Brighton?

The menu isn't your standard tomato and cheese tapas and looked interesting yet the execution was poor. They have designed a slightly upmarket menu but not invested in fresh ingredients or quality chefs that have flair and take pride their work.

Soggy, old calamari, chicken skewers zigzagged with translucent, squeeze-bottled sauce and salmon on limp fennel, denotes the same care to quality as an airport TGI Fridays.

This restaurant came highly recommended and left us deeply disappointed.

True, the staff are friendly and the decor is pretty funky but the restaurant itself was freezing!

The non-alcoholic cocktails were overpriced fruit juice and definitely not worth the money.

The food however, stood out as a particular disappointment. Nothing was fresh - which makes me think we were lucky there was no mussels or octopus available. We could have been in a whole world of pain if they were.

On the whole, the food was poorly executed bar a couple of dishes - the lamb popsicles were quite nice - it was overpriced and lacked in quality. The thing that baffled us the most, was the pale, glossy mayo-type sauce drizzled over everything.

An unpleasant experience. Overpriced and pretentious with bad mannered service. Will not be going back.

For a cocktail bar it has a high opinion of itself. Overpriced drinks, patronising and brusque service. Will not be going back!

This has been one of my favourite places in Brighton since it opened.

It never fails to impress anyone i take and i like to date!. The first floor restaurant has wonderful experimental tapas that 's combines really complex flavours that encourages discussion.

Intelligent eating in fine surroundings.

I took up the £10 lunch offer in the ground floor tapas restaurant with 3 friends and was really impressed. The tapas was delicious and the service attentive and flexible- they lets us swap dishes and catered for one of us who is vegetarian AND stuck to the £10 deal.

The vibe was chilled, friendly and Spanish - nice music, food and staff!

The service is appalling. At 8pm on Saturday night the house red and the house white were both unavailable and nothing of the same or similar price was offered without prompting. Our waitress had very limited English and didn't appear to be at all familiar with the menu or the wine list. I only had a couple of dishes but the food was nice and reasonably priced.

I will go again and give it another try as I like the ambience.

Agree with this rating, not very good value for money and somehow my debit card was not authorised - this has never happened to me before. So I had to go down the road in the freezing cold to withdraw money and pay in cash...
