Went upstairs here recently with my partner. To sum it up - trendy clients, professional, experienced staff and expensive - but worth it! Food is tapas with a twist i.e. think of nouvelle cuisine on a plate but as this is tapas, you get to buy as much as you want! If you fancy a change, love good food and wine and your wallet can stand it - this is definitely worth a look.

I love this restaurant. Every time we need a little peace and quiet we head down to brighton to Pintxo People for some great food and relaxed service.

We are in the process of arranging our wedding reception there, as my partner and i have shared many wonderful evenings at Pintxo, and feel the excellent service we receive on every visit would make our day just that little bit more special.

Fantastic food, wonderful drinks, excellent wine list... and a casual, but attentive service, that compliments both the tapas style (n.b. it is tapas style!), and the Catalonian ambience.

I had been dreading my 40th Birthday party but thanks to Pintxo People had an amazing evening. My party was looked after with such care and attention-everybody is raving about it !

A fabulous evening of fun with superb food and service.

I cant understand the previous reviewers comments. I went to this restaurant and frankly its very disappointing, its got a cool name, thats about it. After trying to decipher what the menu was all about- and how big the portions were, I ordered some meatballs which were delivered cold. The kitchen was full of adolescents playing around, so I had visions of what had previously happened to my meatballs. Please avoid it.

Went here about a year ago after hearing a few good whispers about the place.

I have eaten at some of the top restaurants in brighton, such as: Saint, Havana, Gingerman @ drakes hotel etc, and i can honestly say that this is up there in terms of quality and price too.

The fois gras dish stood out as one of the best dishes my partners and I have ever tasted and the portions were plentiful (about 6-7 dishes between 3 people) and a decent bottle of wine came to approx £45 each inc service, a bit pricey by Brighton standards, but the truth is in London the same meal would cost double that amount and therefore I consider it pretty good value for money as we had wine, cold drinks, very good service and a nice time.

I would not hesitate to go back.

Group of 8 of us were unfortunate enough to choose this venue last night to celebrate a birthday. We were sitting upstairs at the "VIP" table, not quite sure they understand the meaning of the phrase. More ice than drink in our cocktails, one of our party waited over half an hour for a cider only to be told they didn't have any and then another half an hour and 3 requests for his second choice. Waiter offered to choose our food for us, we told him no pork for one of our party but several dishes contained it and we were not warned when they were served. Portions tiny (not a problem if they weren't between £8-£14 each!) and some tasteless and desserts so miniscule that most were left hungry at the end of the night. Service poor and unattentive possibly due to the fact that they were busy (must be first time patrons!). Bill came to £577 for 8 of us!!!! On checking we realised that £80 worth of drinks were on there that we hadn't had (including the elusive cider!), took half an hour of arguing to get them to rectify, the bartender outright lied about "remembering" he had served more cocktails to us than we said we had had. They put 12% service charge on which we were not told about before we ate, perhaps we should have expected it due to size of our party but it would have been nice if the service had warranted paying for. Will never go there again and warn others to stay away! £500 for 8 people to leave hungry, this is Brighton - not London!

Went last night for Valentines. Menu was special for the occasion, so didn't get to try the tapas. Food was outstanding, really really good quality and flavours. Even the free cava was nice.

We were upstairs, which has a really nice atmosphere and has been done up a treat. The downstairs is a lot more canteen like, but think smart canteen.

There is a cocktail bar in the corner upstairs, extensive cocktail menu.

We will definately be going back to try the tapas, and a few more cocktails.

The person who was whinging about two cocktails and food for under £40, have you been out in Brighton before? The cocktails are £5-£7 each, which is pretty standard.
