I have to agree with the previous review stating that 'the service is relaxed', the service is in fact so relaxed it took over an hour to serve our food and had to ask twice for our before our drinks finally arrived. This was after all a Thursday evening. I dread to think for what amount of time you would be required to wait for your meal on a busy Friday or Saturday night. On top of this hourly wait the wrong dish arrives...just as my partner finished his meal mine arrives. In my opinion the greatest sin a restaurant can make.

This restaurant is not concerned about how their food is served, but concentrates on a concept and image instead. One have to give them credit for a nice, darkish atmosphere and decor, but this should not cover up the fact that it is still operating as a restaurant.

I sampled the vegetarian Chimichanga, which was tasteful and nicely presented and my partner enjoyed a Cordero. We also planned to share a side salad, which was just a laughing matter- for £2.50 a small bowl of rather dry mixed leaves and 2 wafer thin slices of tomato was dumped on our table - before either of our mains had arrived. At least maybe they could offer some olive oil or dressing to cover up this rip off? Main dishes were ranging from £7- £9. Portions were not big, but of good quality. Unfortunately, my partner was so famished that by the time his meal arrived he had little desire to savour any flavours as he demolished the lamb cave-man style in a bid to halt his rapidly falling blood sugar levels.

I had heard Iguanas is a Brazilian restaurant, and was looking forward to trying some of their cuisine, so I was slightly surprised by the fact that the menu presented Peruvian, Puerto Rican, Mexican and other dishes of unknown nationality. However, after visiting the restaurant's website, it is after all called a 'Latin American' restaurant.

The restaurant manager did apologise, offered compensation for our disastrous evening and dealt with our complaints brilliantly, however, none of the staff took notice of us or gave us any words of encouragement during our long long wait. I am afraid I will not be a repeat guest.

We have eaten here twice in the last month. The food is great & there is good choice for vegetarians & children. The staff are friendly & the service is relaxed. The food and wine is reasonably priced too. We spent an entire evening here recently, received great service & did not feel any pressure from staff to move on so that they could have our table.
