So disappointed. So many nice reviews and all to have cold food, cold service and an expensive bill...

Again after previous reviews made us sit up and take note; Saturday lunch for £4.95 each - an invitation not to be declined. A lovely little restaurant virtually opposite the Hop Poles made our lunchtime yesterday. Although it looks small from the outside, they do have further seating, including a garden area. The main restaurant was already filling up when we arrived, and was heaving by the time we left.
Choosing from a bigger selection than expected, we had vegetable spring rolls and chicken tom yum soup for starters, quickly (very quickly) followed by a Thai beef curry with rice and spicy noodles with chicken. The rolls were fine, but the soup rather disappointing. It had generous portions of chicken in, but the soup itself was more like flavoured stock than the tom yum soups I've had elsewhere. However, the noodles were spicy, flavoursome and hit the spot, and the beef in the curry was lean and tender. The curry sauce would have been better a little hotter, but it had a deep coconuty flavour which was delicious, especially with the beautifully steamed rice. You can opt to have any of your dishes prepared more spicy hot, just ask. A good idea, for variety, is to share the mains, which we did.
We also splashed out on a french sparkling wine, very welcome, were given tap water in glasses (nice touch) and very well looked after by the two charming Thai waitresses. We couldn't finish all our meal this time and will definitely return. I strongly suspect a Ladies Who Lunch will also be visiting. Lunch is served between 12 and 5; I wish so many other Brighton restaurants would be more flexible, especially in the summer - who says you have to be hungry for lunch between 12 and 2.30?

Superb little place. The set-menu lunch is exceptional value with generous, tasty food and fast, polite service. Despite being shorter than the full menu there is a varied choice.
Have not been for dinner but know people who have that have given the thumbs up.

I went here on Saturday with my 5 of my mates. We hadn't booked but as it was only 7pm they squeezed us in providing we would be out by 8.30 - which was fine.
The food was lovely, having spent 3 months in Thailand it certainly tasted authentic and realy good! Highly recommended.

First came here because of the lunchtime deal. Great value and still great quality.
In the evenings it can get pretty busy but the place is not too packed in so you don't feel too crowded. Service is great - the waitresses are always helpful and attentive even when it is very busy.
