Worst service in the world!!!!
Despite an empty room we have been kept waiting for the food, and I was shocked to see that the bread came to a staggering £22 for a party of 6!!!! We complained and the extremely rude staff said we had to pay or she would't give our credit card back!!! Appalling...

Worst restaurant in Brighton. The staff can't get a basic order right. Food is lukewarm, greasy and pretentious.

I made a big mistake taking my wife to this restauraunt - make sure you don't make the same mistake! Take your custom elsewhere, you really could not do worse.
Service was abysmal. Both the manager and a waitress shared the service duties and both excelled at providing the absolute minimum of "service".
Food was poor and overpriced. Six rings of warmish squid and a few overdressed leaves for £6.25. Caeser salad was extremely over-dressed; it looked like coleslaw. Mussels are just that; bread has to be bought as an extra. No spoon provided for the mussel soup, and no service to obtain one; had to use a mussel shell.
We complained and disputed the service charge. Were told that we had to pay the service change even though the service was below the standard expected of a motorway service station.
I would sooner throw my money down the drain and go hungry than eat at the Plaza again.

lively attentive service
good music for my age group
a good time and meal was had by my party
I asked why they were suddenly getting bad press on this site and the manager was very forthcoming, he knew each of the parties listed and had done his research into what had happened and strangely but typically British it is always one or two people in a large group. Hey in a town like Brighton where most large groups are refused the high volumes this long established business obviously deals with mean you are likely to get the odd bad one. I have been three times with groups and always had a ball, this is good fun unpretentious food in a decent sized venue, lighten up and enjoy it. I asked how long the Plaza had been there and was told 17 years, how many restaurants in Brighton have lasted that long. Most open up to great fan fare, rip off everyone from there employees and suppliers to the tax man and customer and then before you blink they close just to open up under a new name and different ltd co down the road, well thats Brighton for you.

I went there on a hen night yesterday 21/7/07. On arrival we were told that the menu had changed since our booking and we no longer got half a bottle of wine free with our meal (the only reason we booked here). We complained to a memeber of staff and were told that there was nothing we could do. I asked to speak to the owner and was told it wouldn't make a difference - he was right! The owner was rude and clearly had no customer service skills. She said that we had not booked wine with the meal (despite us having a copy of the original menu). The food was ok when it finally arrived, but the place was dead - obviusly people are realising how awful this place is. My advice - STAY AWAY, don't waste your money!!

Had my hen night here. Prior to the night the staff had been extremely helpful, wanting to make it the best night ever & telling us how they loved having hen parties there. However, on the night they tried to make me pay full price for 2 people that didn't show (was booked for 21 'hen's')it was due to their overheads. after a fight they still made me pay £10 per 'no-show's'. They just seemed worried about extracing more money from me, even though we were spending plenty of money behind the bar.
Got told to keep the noise down as we were upsetting other guests - only 1 other group in there who were as loud as us & were joining in with our celebrations.
When requested Abba from the DJ was told they wouldn't play it as 'Management didn't like Abba'.
They ruined my night & I will never go back or ever recommend them.

Worst Restaurant in Brighton. I also found the manager exceptionally rude. I complained about the small piece of fish in front of me being called "Large". It was knowhere near large, at good fish restaurants I have seen small portion fish larger than the fish I was served in that restaurant. The manager had no customer/people skills he was more than rude he was aggressively intimidating. Save your cash do and go to a retaurant that doesn't rip you off with portion size.

Food? You call that food? You call this place a restaurant?after 3 botched drinks orders (how could they have no pint glasses?) the starter of a simple caesar salad was awful, with both myself and my partner unable to eat it. The fear of what may occur with mussels in a restaurant that can make a salad unpalatable we complained discreetely to the manager who then got angry and proceeded to inform other local restaurants over walkie talkie of two people who whewre 'abusive' and 'refusing to pay for food'. i was unbelievably insulted by this complete lack of respect for the customers. i expected
