Symposio

Symposio is one our favourite restaurants! We always take friends or family here when they visit.

We love the hearty portions of food and the service is always perfect! My husband always has the Milou Pilafu (spelling?!) and I always have the Kleftiko. Had the most amazing baclava here also!

I would definately reccomend this place to anyone who is looking for a good hearty meal!

We ate at Symposio on Saturday evening. While the service was fine the food was not.

We started with a pita bread to share. This was fine, you can't really go wrong. Though it would have been nice if the olives had been stoned.

For the main course we had chicken and vegetarian moussaka. The chicken was quite tough and the fried potatoes turned out to be plain old chips! The moussaka was properly the most bland and tasteless interpretation i have had the misfortune to try. the topping seemed to be tomato paste with no white sauce. The filling i could not describe, as was simply bland and tasteless. Again it was served with chips. Not right.. The restaurant its self was ok, the usual tables packed in like battery hens and back killing chairs.

Just to top it off the £50+ bill was a bit steep. 2 mains + 1 starter + 1 bottle of overpriced carva (£5 in the offy). I don’t think we will eat there again!

Had a large family party for dinner. Service v good - charming, friendly, efficient. Mezzes v good (great dolmades, excelletn coarse hummus) but mains disappointing. Moussaka v ordinary and served with a tomato sauce instead of white sauce that didn't really work; kleftiko uninspired - meat dry and tasteless.

I went here for lunch recently and as usual had a great time. The set lunch is very good value and the service great.

The lady who always seems to be there to greet you is so friendly and nice and always makes you feel welcome.

This restaurant has been here for ages and if you haven't tried it yet do yourself a favour and go.

excellent food with an amazing array of tasts, when eating out this is the place to be and the service is second to none. prices are great and you wont go home dissapointed.
